Peachy Peden Rd.
I headed out after choir practice to go home. I kept getting a 'tug' to go the long way and drive Peden Rd. circling back to HWY 287. It turned out to be a good nudge as I reaped the peachy rewards. I saw a car in front of me parked off the road as well and began to realize that someone else had stopped to take a photograph. I was enchanted with what was happening to the sky. The sun had gone behind the single big cloud in the west and it was causing a brilliant lining at the top.
I began talking to the other watcher. He was already in place for the sunset because he had stopped to photograph the amazing cactus covered with multiple blooms. We talked awhile and shared our excitement and love of photography when two police officers came up with lights on telling us we were not far enough off the road. We got in our cars and continued on our way, with our spirits drenched in wonderful coral cactus blooms and clouds.

The Free Gift
I am dealing today with decay of a tooth. A small thing in the midst of a friend dealing with the imminence of death of the earthly body.
We see transitions from birth to death in the seasons each year. Sometimes I will take a photo that is inclusive of life and death in the same space. The falling down shed in the midst of spring wildflowers made such an impression on my soul.
I know that I have freedom in Christ. Even on my last day I count it all as loss in comparison to the free gift of trading my earthly body that has failed for the one that will hold light and life eternally. There will be no rotten timbers or teeth, no sore joints or fallen anything (c; No hair loss or lost shingles. No termites, rashes, or weak bones. No glasses, failing eyes or failing memories. Amen! Rejoice!

The free gift of God is eternal life.

A Rich Feast
I am on my way to the dentist to take care of a swollen cheek due to an abscess. Please pray for me that I will be at peace and let the love of God fill my mind and heart as I breathe in the gift of life.
I went out and gathered some visions from the neighboring yards to keep in my mind for visiting during my stay in the 'chair' today. I am going loaded with a rich feast of memory for my mind, heart and body to be able to relax and receive the work and healing.

My soul is satisfied as with a rich feast.

How Sweet
I have been driving out to the countryside to find wildflowers and was so rewarded for the efforts. But they are beginning to wane as the grass is growing up over the spent blooms and the seed heads are beginning to appear. I was a little restless as the season points to the hot Texas summer.
Circumstances here with a terminally ill friend don't call for a trip away any time soon, so I have been given a plethora of delights right in my front flower bed. God's provision is extraordinary!
I am getting to watch the incredible system of pollination that God set in motion. The bushes have doubled in size and are blooming with a heavy sweetness that is a siren for butterflies and bees. The bees get so covered with pollen that they retreat to a smooth leaf to wipe off before returning to the banquet. The butterfly bodies swell as they take in the sweet nectar. They are drawn to the blossoms and sweet reward while carrying out the task in the process of spreading pollen from one place to another.
Are we not, deep inside, designed to be drawn to the sweetness of our Lord Jesus? He calls us to the banquet of His love. We take that sweetness we have found and spread it as we touch others with with His amazing presence. We have been fed with manna of the living God, and pass it on to others. As the song goes, "How sweet it is to be loved by you!"

How sweet are your words to my taste,
sweeter than honey to my mouth!
