A New Name
I don't pretend to understand the book of Revelation. But sometimes a snippet of scripture there resonates with my spirit. One of those scriptures, found in a letter to the Church in Pergamum, is a reference to a new name:
Rev. 2:17
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it.

I am sure, as He makes us white as snow, that the name he will give each one is full of love. It will replace all those names we or others took on that were mean, unkind, and judgmental. I have a strong feeling that my friend, Lynne, will have a name that translates somehow to the concept of 'JOY"; my friend Karen, 'PRAY-ER' ; my friend, Lessy, 'BLESSY'! I have other names I would give to Gwen, Judy, Lynda, Mary, and others that have been such encouragers to me. Our new names will encompass the many dimensions of beauty in spirit and demonstrate how precious we are. How can they not? It is the nature of the Giver!

Here you are! I've missed your inspirations at the "other" place. This is a wonderful thing to meditate on. Thank you, Connie. :)
