The Perfect Gift

I was taking some pictures of Christmas decorations around my house when the scene above my front door caught my eye. As the sun began to set, the scene changed because of the light.

I got two different pictures of the very same thing in a matter of less than an hour because the sky showing through the window changed from soft blues into sunset hues. As I searched scripture about "light" I came across the scripture about every good and perfect gift. It also contained a line about shifting shadows. The figures in the window are Mary, Joseph, and the baby Jesus. The babe who is the word of truth made flesh, the perfect gift. Wow! God so loved us that He gave the perfect gift.

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created. James 1:17-18

I long for the day that scripture starts lighting in my mind with events throughout my day. That takes a life lived with God. This is beautiful, Connie, thanks!

About Me

My photo
Connie
I am a Gibson Girl; the proud owner of a Gibson J-45 acoustic guitar. My husband gave it to me back in 1971 while we were dating. It almost went away a few times when the babies came and we were short on cash. But, luckily, I still have the guitar and the husband. I am pretty ecclectic in my music tastes. I love to play folk type ballads in the tradition of Judy Collins, Carole King, and Joni Mitchell. I also love rock and roll. Just an old hippie! I also write my own Christian songs, and silly little ditties for my four grandchildren.
